Teknomer Expanding Waterstop
Product Description
A water-expanding, elastic rubber tape made from a mixture of chloroprene rubber and hydrophilic resin, consisting of hydrophilic vulcanized elastic rubber. It expands by 800% when in contact with water within precast concrete elements and reinforced concrete structures.
Areas of Use
•At joints between precast concrete elements,
•In underground structural joints,
•At joints between concrete elements,
•In vertical structural joints,
•At joints around pipes passing through reinforced concrete,
•At concrete-steel joints,
•In reinforced concrete structures exposed to high water pressure.

Application Instructions
On smooth surfaces, it should be secured between the inner and outer reinforcement using 4-5 nails per meter or TEKNOPOLİDERZ 1K mastic.
On rough surfaces, it should be firmly pressed into the mastic within a width of ± 3 mm and secured with an additional 4-5 nails per meter.
F and S types can be used for pipe penetrations.
To ensure complete watertightness, the entire profile must be in contact with the joint surface. The profile ends should be joined so that they complement each other.
To ensure continuity at the joint, the ends of the profiles should be aligned with each other. The required quantity is determined according to the total length of the joint to be treated.
Application Notes / Limitations
•Application under heavy rain should be avoided.
•The tape must be covered with an epoxy-based product, such as around pipe entry and exit points. Since it expands and swells upon contact with water, it will displace other applications made with materials other than epoxy.
