Teknomer Chamfer Tape
Teknomer Corner Tape
Product Description
Elastic joint waterproofing tape based on thermoplastic elastomer (TPE), with a polyester mesh carrier, used for waterproofing structural joints. It is 120/70 mm wide and provides flexible joint waterproofing.
Areas of Use
•Under tiles and ceramics in interior spaces,
•Before tile, ceramic, and waterproofing applications in wet areas such as swimming pools, water tanks, bathrooms, and WCs,
•At pipe entry and exit details in applications such as water tanks and swimming pools,
•Between layers of liquid-applied waterproofing materials in wet areas, balconies, and terraces,
•Between layers of ceramic adhesives,
•For waterproofing dynamic (moving) cracks and cold joints occurring in floors and retaining walls.
Properties and Advantages
•Provides reinforcement when used together with liquid-applied waterproofing materials.
•Can be easily cut and welded for easy application in all types of waterproofing details.
•Placed at the designated location before concrete is poured and remains embedded after the concrete hardens, providing waterproofing.
•Does not tear and is resistant to impact and bending.
•Resistant to many chemicals.
•Economical.
Application Instructions
Surface Preparation: The application surface must be cleaned of all substances that may prevent adhesion, such as dust, oil, paint, silicone, curing agents, detergents, and similar materials.
Application Notes / Limitations
•A waterproofing material suitable for the application area and environmental conditions must be selected. Before applying the waterproofing material, TEKNOMER Corner Tape should be measured and cut according to the application area and stored ready for installation.
•After applying the first coat of liquid-applied waterproofing material, TEKNOMER Corner Tape is placed over cold joints, corners, horizontal-vertical junctions, and dynamic cracks. The first coat of waterproofing should be applied slightly thicker to ensure that the corner tape is embedded into the waterproofing layer.
•Corner tapes can also be applied to concrete surfaces using ceramic, granite-ceramic, and acrylic adhesives. The joining ends of the corner tape should be heated with a soldering iron until the PVC softens and then pressed together with a minimum 10 cm overlap to ensure bonding.
•This provides continuous and uninterrupted waterproofing. Subsequently, a second coat of waterproofing material should be applied over the TEKNOMER Corner Tape, completely covering it and completing the waterproofing system.
•Ensure that the corner tape is completely covered after application. Do not expose it to flame. In case the product catches fire, extinguish it with a water jet and apply foam. Not recommended for use in high-temperature environments.
•After application, the product must be protected against adverse weather conditions such as direct sunlight, strong winds, high air temperatures (above +35°C), rain, and frost. Hands should be cleaned with water and detergent before the product has fully cured and hardened.
